BECOME A LAFAYETTE ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL VOLUNTEER WE NEED YOU!

With the support of parents and community members, our goal is to increase the resources for both faculty and students. We need volunteers to offer their time; it could be an hour a week or one day per month. Whatever you can provide to Lafayette, we will be happy to have you.

How YOU can help:

1. Tutor or read with a student. In order for our students to succeed, they must be better readers. Tutoring after school or during the school day in all subjects is needed. Don’t worry, we will prepare you for this important job. You will feel great satisfaction every time you complete a session.
2. Our library has received thousands of free books. Spend an hour or two helping the librarian process and shelve the books. (You may even have the chance to read one of those beautiful new books to a child visiting the library).
3. Chaperone field trips. Join your child on a funfilled experience away from school. No 4. brothers or sisters, just you and your special Lafayette student. You will help your child’s 5. teacher tremendously by chaperoning and will make your child feel like a super star 6. because you cared enough to go along.
4. Teach parenting skills. Help younger parents, those less experienced learn from you. 7. What works, what doesn’t in the challenges of parenting. From discipline to nutrition, we 8. need your help.
5. Provide basic literacy tutoring for parents.
6. Volunteer to help at the Health Fair, Open House, etc.

There are short term and long term opportunities to fit everyone’s schedule. We greatly appreciate any support you can offer to help our deserving children and dedicated staff. It takes parent and community support and with you on our team our children at Lafayette will definitely succeed.
